Job Title: Career Services Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Employment Services
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000 (commensurate with experience)
Position Description:
The Career Services Coordinator oversees the job search process for all Job Development Center (JDC) program participants.
The Career Services Coordinator also will provide support, guidance, and skills training to program participants.
The Career Services Coordinator will also act as a liaison between the program participants and potential employers
Duties and Responsibilities (Included but not limited to)
- Counsels program participants regarding job search, resume creations/enhancing, and cover letter preparation
- Acts as a liaison between program participants and potential employers
- Coordinates, schedules, and facilitates, classroom presentations as directed
- Conducts and schedules program participants practice interviews, coach participants on job search strategies, and how to use related tools
- Facilitates business, education, and community partner workshops.
- Assists program participants with the availability of employment and educational opportunities with local employers and educational institutions
- Works cooperatively with staff members and establishes positive working relationships internally and externally, to achieve the organizations mission
- Participates in staff meetings, staff training and other activities as required
- Provides follow-up services to ensures all program participants are actively seeking employment or educational opportunities
- Maintains attendance records and submits them to the supervisor
- Provides a warm and caring atmosphere for the program participants
- Assists Program Director with curriculum development
- Distributes employment-related and educational material to program participants
- Assists the Program Director with other Job Development Center programs as directed
Qualifications
- Knowledge of methods and procedures for seeking employment and educational opportunities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills
- Experienced in using social media to track employment trends
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadliness
- The Career Services Coordinator generally works in an office environment, but the mission of the organization may take them to non-traditional workplaces
- Previous experience in group facilitation, tracking employment opportunities and new trends in workforce development.
